Security.

Your content stays on your Mac unless you choose to post a clip.

This page is maintained by ClipChip.ai to answer common security and privacy questions about the app.

Architecture

Privacy by design, not by policy.

ClipChip.ai is a native macOS application. The AI models, transcript engine, caption renderer, and export pipeline all run inside the app sandbox on your Mac. Because your raw footage is never uploaded, it cannot be accessed, stored, logged, or used to train models by ClipChip.ai or any third-party service.

Security principles

How we keep your footage local.

On-device processing

Every frame, transcript, and clip candidate is analyzed by AI models that run locally on your Mac's Apple Neural Engine. Nothing is streamed to a server for processing.

No telemetry

ClipChip.ai does not collect usage analytics, clip contents, or watch what you edit. The app does not phone home with your project data.

No cloud account required

Activation uses a license key, not a user account. You don't need to sign in, sync, or store projects online.

Works offline

After the initial download and activation, ClipChip.ai runs without an internet connection. Process footage on a plane, in a studio, or anywhere.

No third-party AI APIs

We don't call external transcription, caption, or analysis APIs when you process a video. The models are bundled with the app and stay local.

You control the data

Your exports, project files, and generated clips are stored in folders you choose. Delete them whenever you want — they're on your machine.
